At Popular Kydz, our mission is to nurture the whole child through the principles of the Montessori philosophy—fostering independence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning. We provide a carefully prepared environment that encourages self-directed exploration, hands-on discovery, and respect for oneself, others, and the world. Guided by trained Montessori educators, we support each child’s natural development, empowering them to grow into confident, capable, and compassionate individuals. In partnership with families, we honor the uniqueness of every child and cultivate a foundation for purposeful learning and meaningful life experiences.
Mary M. Pruitt
Owner/Director
Mary Pruitt lovingly known as "Auntie Mary," grew up in a big city with an even bigger family. With kids of her own, several grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews, Mary has been caring for children for over 30 years. Mary has a natural "niche" for the development of children and specializes in childhood advancement. She currently holds a BA in English and a BA in Childhood Special Education and is expected to acquire her teacher's license. She also hold various certificates in the development and care of children. She has to be knowledgeable of how and what to teach these young minds.
Popular Kydz Childcare was developed by Mary Pruitt as a way for parents to have one less worry about their children while they are away. Popular Kydz offers affordable rates for children from 5 weeks of age through 12-years-old. Your child will feel right at home while engaging in age-appropriate activities and learning important developmental skills. Popular Kydz provides a loving and nurturing environment. Located in Bronx, NY we strive to be a step above the rest. Let us provide your child with a quality, one-of-a-kind experience. We focus on the development of the child and their social skills. Your child will be in a loving, caring environment along with fun activities to inspire learning.
Popular Kydz is licensed through the Department of Health (DOH), still practice Covid prepared (tested when symptoms appear), home toys and surfaces are sanitized with a solution of bleach and water, we accept special needs children, ACS vouchers are accepted and MAT Certified ( Medication Assisted Treatment- give medication to students).
